The MartinLogan Dynamo 12 pairs a 12-inch high-excursion aluminum woofer with a Magnitude amplifier rated at 800 watts continuous and 1,600 watts peak. It all sits in a sealed cabinet with no port, so there is no port noise to worry about. Rated response reaches down to 22 Hz.
This listing is the Satin White finish, a light alternative to the usual black box. The cabinet stands 16.75 inches tall and 15.75 inches wide and deep, and weighs 61.5 pounds. Wireless is built in, and the transmitter is included, so you are not tied to a long cable run.
Around back you get an RCA LFE input, a balanced XLR LFE input, stereo RCA line inputs, and speaker-level inputs for banana plugs. A sub output lets you add another subwoofer. Choose On, Auto, or 12V trigger power, and read your level on the backlit knob.
The free MartinLogan Subwoofer Control app for iOS and Android puts every setting on your phone. Set the level, crossover from 35 to 120 Hz, phase, and polarity. Switch between Movie, Music, and Night presets, or run the built-in tone sweep to find rattles in your room.
Every setting runs through MartinLogan’s Vojtko DSP engine, a 500MHz processor with 64-bit resolution, named for the company’s chief audio technologist. The woofer is an anodized-aluminum cone in a stamped steel basket. A 1-inch-thick reinforced MDF baffle holds it firmly in the sealed enclosure.
Rated frequency response is 22 to 120 Hz, ±3 dB, measured anechoic through the LFE input. A dedicated 20 to 30 Hz control in the app adds or trims the deepest octave by up to 10 dB. Integrated anti-vibration feet ship with carpet spikes for soft floors.
The Dynamo 12 works with Anthem Room Correction through the ARC Genesis software. Plug the sub into a PC or Mac with USB-C, measure with an ARC microphone, and upload the result. The microphone is sold separately, and firmware updates install the same way.
From an AV receiver, connect its Sub or LFE output to the Dynamo 12’s LFE input with a subwoofer cable, or plug in the wireless transmitter. From a stereo amp, use the left and right line inputs or the speaker-level inputs. A subwoofer cable is not included.
Set the crossover and phase in the app, then run ARC Genesis if you have the microphone. Find the best spot, dial it in, and let it work.
