A headphone cable must physically match both ends of the chain: the connector on your headphones and the connector on your amplifier or DAC. Getting either wrong means the cable simply will not plug in, which is why the fit matters as much as the build quality.
Cardas Parsec Headphone is built for Sennheiser HD600 and HD650, using the same shielded star-quad geometry behind Cardas's original headphone cable, in a flexible rubber jacket that slides without snagging your clothing.
Cardas builds Parsec Headphone around a shielded star-quad four-conductor design, the same versatile geometry behind the original Cardas headphone cable introduced in 2003. Conductors are Grade 1, 99.9999% pure oxygen-free copper with SPN clear coat, Litz construction, gauge sizes scaled to Golden Ratio proportions, insulated in a PFA jacket.
The four conductors are bound together in carbon-impregnated FEP tape and finished in a super-flexible Alcryn rubber jacket, which Cardas says slides nicely without snagging your clothing as you move. The gauge runs 4x23.5 AWG for an outside diameter of 0.204 inches, or 5.21mm.
This cable terminates in a Cardas 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo male plug at the amplifier end, and in the connector your Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 uses at the headphone end, matching the connector Sennheiser builds into those two models. Cardas machines that plug itself, a GRQ-series connector plated rhodium over silver, backed by a Cardas lifetime warranty.
Plug the Cardas 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo male plug end into the headphone output on your amplifier or DAC, and the other end into your Sennheiser HD600 or HD650.
Then power up the system as usual. Other and longer lengths available. Call for prices.
A headphone cable is one link between your headphones and an amplifier or DAC. It usually joins these categories.
It simply won't plug in. Headphone connectors aren't interchangeable the way many amplifier connectors are, so check your headphones' own connector, and the amp-end plug your amplifier or DAC uses, before ordering.
Parsec uses a shielded star-quad four-conductor geometry rather than Clear's dual mono design, at a lower price. Cardas describes Parsec as having all the legendary benefits Cardas is known for in a more accessible build.
Single-ended. The amp end is a standard Cardas 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo male plug, not a balanced XLR plug.
Cardas Clear Headphone Cable is the step up for the same HD600/650 fit, moving to Clear's dual mono geometry.
