AudioQuest's FireBird 48 is the seventh rung of its 48Gbps HDMI cables. Its conductors are solid 100% Perfect-Surface Silver, AudioQuest's best metal. Graphene and carbon wrap the data pairs, and a 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System polarizes the insulation. It is certified Ultra High Speed by HDMI Licensing.
AudioQuest says FireBird uses its best conductor metal, 100% solid Perfect-Surface Silver. Solid silver defeats both electrical and magnetic strand-to-strand interaction. The extreme purity minimizes distortion from grain boundaries within the conductor. It also maximizes linear dissipation of radio-frequency noise.
Four balanced audio/video pairs each carry 12Gbps, so 4K/120, 8K/60, Dynamic HDR and video up to 10K are within reach. The eARC pair is internally controlled for direction, which AudioQuest says ensures superior audio performance from the return channel.
AudioQuest adds its Dielectric-Bias System to a high-loss carbon layer around the direction-controlled conductors. Graphene joins the carbon sandwiched between metal around the data pairs. The bias pack holds 72 volts on the insulation. AudioQuest says that minimizes dielectric noise and linearizes the filter effect of the insulation.
FireBird 48 ends in a full-size HDMI plug at each end. HDMI is the flat 19-pin plug on every TV, projector, receiver and console. One cable carries picture, sound and the control signals that let the devices talk. The bias pack rides on the cable near one plug. Arrows on the plugs show which way to run it.
Plug one end into the HDMI output of your player, streamer or console and the other into an HDMI input on your TV, receiver or processor. AudioQuest controls the direction of all 19 conductors, so point the arrows on the plugs toward the TV, or from the source toward the AV receiver. Then choose that input on the display or the receiver.

An HDMI cable is one link in a home theater chain. It usually joins these categories.
AudioQuest's best conductor metal. It says the extreme-purity solid silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries within the conductor and maximizes linear dissipation of radio-frequency noise.
A small battery pack on the cable that holds 72 volts on the insulation. AudioQuest says insulation acts like a shunt filter, and biasing it minimizes dielectric noise and linearizes that filter. The batteries carry no signal and last for years.
Everything in Level 5, plus AudioQuest's Dielectric-Bias System. Graphene joins the carbon layer around the data pairs, a global carbon layer surrounds all conductors, and a 72-volt bias pack keeps the insulation polarized so it adds less noise.
Yes. AudioQuest says its 48Gbps cables support the enhanced gaming features, 4K120, VRR, ALLM and QFT, for optimal performance from Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X and gaming PCs. The cable is certified Ultra High Speed by HDMI Licensing.
A limited lifetime warranty to the original owner, for cables bought from an authorized US dealer such as Audio Advisor. AudioQuest will repair or replace a defective cable that has not been abused. Keep your proof of purchase.
AudioQuest Dragon 48 is the top of the range. It adds solid Perfect-Surface Silver drains to everything FireBird has, Level-7 Noise-Dissipation.
