AudioQuest's Husky RCA connects amplifiers, receivers, soundbars and AV receivers to a wide range of subwoofers. It uses solid 5% silver conductors, polyethylene air-tube insulation, carbon-based metal-layer Noise-Dissipation and a 72v Dielectric-Bias System.
Husky is also available with XLR plugs. AudioQuest Husky XLR is the choice when your electronics and subwoofer both offer XLR.
Other length & termination options are available. Call us to discuss your needs.
AudioQuest says solid silver-plated conductors, harsh and aggressive for full-range audio, enhance intelligibility and articulation when used for subwoofers. It calls this a cost-effective way to make very high-quality subwoofer cables, and solid conductors help eliminate strand-interaction distortion.
Husky's three conductors include a separate ground-reference conductor, so the shield is never used as an inferior conductor. AudioQuest's patented 72v Dielectric-Bias System creates an electrostatic field that optimizes the cable's insulation, which AudioQuest says brings clearer sound from a blacker background. An RF Trap reduces induced radio-frequency noise further.
Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly. The cold-welded plugs use Hanging-Silver over pure red copper, bonding the plug to the wire with high pressure to preserve the character of the wire where it ends.
Connect one end to the subwoofer output of your receiver, preamp or processor, and the other to the line-level input on your subwoofer. Push each plug straight on until it seats, and pull it off by the barrel, never by the cable. Then play something with deep bass and set your subwoofer's level to taste. Husky is also made with XLR plugs for systems that have XLR subwoofer connections.
Measure the route the cable will really take from your electronics to your subwoofer, around furniture and along the baseboard. Then add a little slack. As audio legend George Cardas puts it, "A cable that's just long enough usually turns out to be just not long enough."
Subwoofers often sit far from the electronics. If yours does, we recommend a long interconnect rather than a long speaker cable. A really long interconnect affects system performance less than a really long speaker cable.
A subwoofer cable often stays in a system for years, so it is easy to overlook. Look again when something else changes: a new subwoofer, a new receiver or preamp, or a move to a bigger room.
A subwoofer cable joins your electronics to your subwoofer. These are the categories on either end of it.
Check your subwoofer's manual first for the manufacturer's recommendation. If the manufacturer says an RCA cable will perform just as well, save the extra cost and buy a good RCA subwoofer cable.
Yes. AudioQuest Husky XLR uses the same conductor and shielding approach with XLR plugs.
AudioQuest's patented system that creates an electrostatic field to optimize the cable's insulation, with an RF Trap to reduce induced radio-frequency noise.
AudioQuest backs the cable with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner, when you buy from an authorized US dealer like us.
