AudioQuest's Dragon 48 is the flagship of its 48Gbps HDMI cables. Conductors and drains alike are solid 100% Perfect-Surface Silver. Graphene and carbon wrap the data pairs, a global carbon layer wraps everything, and a 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System polarizes the insulation. It is certified Ultra High Speed by HDMI Licensing.
AudioQuest says Dragon uses its best conductor metal, 100% solid Perfect-Surface Silver, along with solid silver drains, to further improve Noise-Dissipation and thoroughly defeat both electrical and magnetic strand-to-strand interaction. Nothing in the signal or ground path is copper.
For maximum radio-noise reduction, AudioQuest says Level 7 adds 100% Perfect-Surface Silver drain wires to its 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System, its graphene and carbon mesh network, and its direction-controlled conductors. Graphene joins the carbon around the data pairs, and a global carbon layer wraps all 19 conductors.
Dragon 48 ends in a full-size HDMI plug at each end. HDMI is the flat 19-pin plug on every TV, projector, receiver and console. One cable carries picture, sound and the control signals that let the devices talk. The bias pack rides on the cable near one plug. Arrows on the plugs show which way to run it.
Part-Time Audiophile's Panagiotis Karavitis reviewed Dragon 48 as an I2S audio link between streamer and DAC in September 2025. “Everything in the Dragon screams quality and all design aspects seem to be optimized for the best possible experience.”
He judged it against the cost of other cables in a system and called it “one of the best HDMIs the sector has to offer.” His confession: he intended to forget to ship it back.
Chamnan Kongkanta's Atmos test of the AudioQuest Dragon 48:
Plug one end into the HDMI output of your player, streamer or console and the other into an HDMI input on your TV, receiver or processor. AudioQuest controls the direction of all 19 conductors, so point the arrows on the plugs toward the TV, or from the source toward the AV receiver. Then choose that input on the display or the receiver.
Then press play. Other and longer lengths available. Call for prices.
An HDMI cable is one link in a home theater chain. It usually joins these categories.
AudioQuest's best conductor metal. It says the extreme-purity solid silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries within the conductor and maximizes linear dissipation of radio-frequency noise.
AudioQuest's most complete shield. It adds 100% Perfect-Surface Silver drain wires to the 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System, the graphene and carbon mesh network, and the direction-controlled conductors of the levels below it.
A small battery pack on the cable that holds 72 volts on the insulation. AudioQuest says insulation acts like a shunt filter, and biasing it minimizes dielectric noise and linearizes that filter. The batteries carry no signal and last for years.
Yes. AudioQuest says its 48Gbps cables support the enhanced gaming features, 4K120, VRR, ALLM and QFT, for optimal performance from Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X and gaming PCs. The cable is certified Ultra High Speed by HDMI Licensing.
A limited lifetime warranty to the original owner, for cables bought from an authorized US dealer such as Audio Advisor. AudioQuest will repair or replace a defective cable that has not been abused. Keep your proof of purchase.
Not in the AudioQuest 48 range we carry. Dragon 48 is the top of that ladder. If you want to go further, call us and we will talk through the whole chain.
